The Candidate will implement Cayoose Creek Programs ensuring that all the community members, on and off the Nation, have access to adequate, equal, efficient, and quality services. This position reports to the Executive Director of Health and Social Development and provides overall leadership, vision, and strategic direction to Cayoose Creek Band's growing Indigenous programs and partnerships. We encourage all First Nations, Metis ad Inuit Peoples in Canada or Indigenous Peoples of North America, to self identify in their application, and provide efficient and friendly services to students, faculty, and staff members. Support the effective operations of the Vancouver site. Assist with general office duties and task.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or Current Student
  • Experience in working with First Nations Communities
  • BC Class 5 Drivers License or obtaining one

PREFERABLE SKILLS AND QUALITFICATIONS:

  • MinimuM of 1 year of customer service, front desk or relate experience.
  • Must demonstrate a level of customer service, attention to detail, and organizational, and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to perform job duties wit minimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, multi-task, and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine corresponcende
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to other sites as needed
  • Proficiency with MS Office products
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, stoop pr bend, talk, reach, use repetitive motion of hands/wrist, sit grasp or handle, hear, feel and walk/
  • The employee will regularly use cleaning products such as disinfectant, white board cleaner, etc.
  • The employee is occasionally requires to use repetitive motion of the feet and knee
  • The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, or pull to 50 pounds
  • Work is generally performed indoors in a typical office/front desk setting
  • Attendance in evenings or weekend may be required

DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Work closely with site staff to ensure effective and efficient site operations. Support students, staff, and faculty on-site to maintain a positive learning and teaching environment.
  • Cooperate with other departments to resolve student or site issues promptly and professionally
  • Work with local staff to coordinate events onsite, including monthly information meetings.
  • Work with the IT department to gain basic knowledge to help students with computer or network issues.
  • Provide front desk coverage and customer service to students, instructors, and property management with other support staff. The critical function is to answer phones and service face-to-face student interaction.
  • Coordinate classroom availability and scheduling, ensuring buildings and classrooms are open on time and equipment is operational and available. Ensure that classroom are properly cleaned in a timely and professional manner after all classes and events.
  • Oversee the exam proctoring process
  • And perform appropriate duties as assigned by management.

 

Position at the Cayoose Creek Band is considered positions of trust. The selected candidate will be subjected to a 3-,onth assessment with a 6-month probation period at which time the performance of the candidate will be evaluated and the decision made to continue the contract for the remainder of the year. At the end of that contracted year, a further performance evaluation will be completed in order to determine whether the contract will be extended into the next year(s).

SALARY RANGE: DEPENDANT ON THE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

TERMS: $20.00 PER HOUR

SCOPE: FULL-TIME/ 35 HOURS PER WEEK
