Job Summary
The role of the Social Work Assistant is to work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that the Child & Family team has support with administration duties i.e. Maintaining filing and record systems, scheduling appointments, referral to right Child & Family team member.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs related clerical duties for Child & Family Program, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.
- Performing clerical and/or Receptionist duties when Sekw'el'was Receptionist is away.
- Answers and direct calls to the appropriate team.
- Making preparations for event meetings or committees
- Work with Child & Family Team to compile a resource list of western and wholistic resources for the child and family.
- Review files from storage, sort and ensure that the records are properly secured and there is unauthorized access to or copying records.
- Working close with Child & Family team and the Social Development Manager to perform duties as requested.
- Update calendars and schedule meetings with team or external organizations.
Qualifications:
- Undergoing Post Secondary Education or registered as a full-time student in previous academic year or intends to register to school on a full-time basis.
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills MS Word, Excel, Email and Power point.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Must be self-motivated
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Valid driver's licence
Salary Range: $20.00 to $ 26.00 per hour depending on qualifications and skills
Term: Indefinite (upon completion of probation)
Scope:Full Time, 35 hours per week
