Summary
The primary objective of the Receptionist/Patient Travel Clerk is to arrange for patient travel and provide clerical and administrative support to the Kanaka Bar Health Department. Responsibilities are carried out in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner which is based in, and reflects, the values and beliefs of the Kanaka Bar Indian Band.

Position
The Receptionist / Patient Travel Clerk role will include, but not limited to:
• Create a warm welcoming environment by greeting guests
• Answer multi-line telephone, greet callers, and assist with any inquiries
• Advocate for community members with First Nations Health Authority
• Process invoices for Patient Travel requests
• Must be knowledgeable with First Nations Health Authority Patient Travel Policy and reporting requirements
• Provide support for teams when necessary

Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of office experience or
• Certificate in Office Administration or Secretarial Program with no previous experience
• Knowledge of social, economic and health issues relevant to First Nations Community
• 1st Aid
• Criminal Record Check, required
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License

Working Conditions
• Full-Time Monday to Friday 8am-4pm
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and occasional weekends, as needed
