Full Time Addictions Worker - Lillooet Tribal Council 

POSITION SUMMARY
This is a full-time permanent position. This position is responsible for the delivery of the St’át’imc Outreach Health Services (SOHS) Drug and Alcohol support program by providing one-on-one counselling to individuals and families and coordinating group-therapy meetings.
The successful candidate requires sensitivity and understanding of the social and cultural history of aboriginal clients and the impacts of residential schools. In particular, the Worker needs to broadly understand trauma and the various ways in how trauma may express itself in individual’s lives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with the primary healthcare team, social services sector and traditional helpers to deliver integrated (wrap-around) care services.
•Conduct case management, coordination of services, and evaluation.
•Maintain monthly statistical summaries of program delivery.
•Coordinate community workshops on dependency.
•Assesses clients and make referrals to treatment centers or outside agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•A relevant bachelor’s degree and/or Nechi Training,
•Two years’ recent related experience in a substance use treatment environment with Aboriginal clients,
•Valid BC driver’s license and reliable vehicle,
•Criminal records check.

SALARY: $31/ hr ($58,240 annual) to $35/ hour ($63,700 annual) plus benefits dependent on education and experience
