Skate Lillooet is looking for Skating Coaches!

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, energetic people to help run our programs.

We currently offer CanSkate and StarSkate coaching and would be excited to expand our programs. Lillooet skaters range from beginning Canskate to experienced level 6 Starskate. Our programs run Tuesday-Friday, with the bulk of our coaching needs on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 3:15pm. Our regular season begins in September and runs through to the end of March.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have or willing to obtain Skate Canada Coaching Membership & NCCP Status.
  • Completion of the Skate Canada Code of Ethics and be in good standing with Skate Canada.
  • Experience with Skate Canada’s CanSkate program. All applicants must be competent skaters and able to learn and teach the current CanSkate program.
  • Excellent communication skills are extremely important.
  • The selected candidate must provide clear criminal record and vulnerable sector checks.
  • Current First Aid is an asset, or must be willing to attain if hired.
  • Willingness to adhere to all Skate Canada rules and regulations.
  • Existing Skate Canada coaching certification would be a huge asset.

 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coaching group lessons.
  • Design/choose/draw circuits for the lessons.
  • Guiding and managing the Program Assistants during sessions.
  • On and off ice duties are required as all programs have been created by the skating coach.

Wage & Hours:

  • $20/hour – Part time – 2 – 12 hours / week depending on participants and available coaches

The purpose of the Club is to encourage the interest, development, instruction, practice, enjoyment and advancement of our members in all aspects of figure skating inn accordance with the Rules and Policies of the Canadian Figure Skating Association.
