Roadrunner Excavating is seeking a skilled and dependable Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. Wage: Starting at $30 / hour

Duties:

• Operate Class 1 commercial trucks for the transportation of freight to designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
• Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
• Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies during transit.
• Assist with basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse personnel to coordinate delivery schedules.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on the truck and report any issues promptly.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Clean and current drivers abstract.
• Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
• Prior experience in freight transportation or commercial driving is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards for commercial vehicles.
• Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and reliability.
• Physical ability to load, unload, and handle freight, including lifting heavy items when necessary.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
