Housekeepers (part-time)

Job Description:

Are you a motivated individual, who is organized and enjoys physical activity? Are you interested in gaining valuable work experience in an interesting environment? Retasket Lodge is seeking hard-working individuals to join its housekeeping team!

Duties:

· Cleaning guest rooms (dusting surfaces, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming)

· Removing used linens and towels, placing fresh linens, making beds

· Restocking in-room amenities (soaps, shampoos, shower caps, etc.)

· Laundry duties as needed

Skills Required:

No formal education or training is necessary, but applicants are expected to be organized, and have an attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

This job involves a lot of time on your feet, and although no heavy lifting required normally, applicants should be able to lift and carry armloads of linens or towels for a short distance. There is also a considerable amount of bending, reaching, pushing and pulling. If you have any physical conditions or ailments, please make them known during the interview process.

You will receive training in:

· Basic housekeeping procedures, including how to properly use a variety of cleaning products

· Laundry procedures, including safe use of equipment and a variety of laundry chemicals

· Keeping storage areas clean and organized, and keeping track of inventory

Hours/Availability:

As a part-time housekeeper, you can expect to work anywhere from 2 to 4 days per week, depending on the number of guests in the hotel. Length of shifts can vary anywhere from 3 hours to 8 hours – again, depending on how busy the hotel is and how many rooms need to be cleaned in a day. Opportunities for additional hours may come up if team members take time off. Also, there is the possibility that you may be called upon to cover a shift if a team member falls ill, so flexibility is appreciated.

Seton Lake Cabins:

Although the majority of cleaning duties will be needed at the hotel, you will also be asked to assist in the cleaning of the Seton Lake Cabins. There are 4 cabins, each with two or three bedrooms. These gorgeous vacation spots are gaining popularity, especially during the summer months, so there will be a need to quickly clean the cabins between guest stays.

Compensation:

Housekeeping team members start at $21.00/hour. After a three-month probationary period, wages so up to $24.00/hour.

Seasonal vs. Year-Round:

Although there will be more work during the peak season for tourism (May-September), the hotel and cabins operate year-round, so there will continue to be opportunities for work even during the non-peak season (October-April).
