Xwisten Tours Supervisor and Tour Guides

Bridge River Indian Band is seeking an individual(s) to fill a Seasonal full time Xwisten Tours Supervisor and two (2) part time Xwisten Tour Guides for the Xwísten Experience Tours. The Xwisten Tours Supervisor will work with Xwisten Tour Guides coordinating tours, activities and responsible for the general maintenance for the Xwisten Experience Tours. The purpose of the Xwisten Experience Tours is to bring awareness of the community’s traditional food & awareness to our culture and identify locations in our Xwisten and St’át’imc territory.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Deliver tours – welcoming, tour of fishing grounds, tour of pit house site, fishing drying demonstration
• Site Maintenance, watering, mowing lawn and weed whacking
• Research information relevant to tours
• Answer all inquiries regarding the tours and the fishing area
• Responsible for; cash register, bookings, and fish demo orders
• Assist with preparation and serving meals for the Fishing Tours
• Greeting customers and tourists
• Exercise Discretion when handle confidential information and always maintain confidentiality
• Other duties as assigned by the Administrator
Qualifications:
• Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Good communication skills, verbal and written
• Food Safe Certificate
• Outgoing and Personable
• Tour Guides must have a valid first aid certificate
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
• This is shift work so must be able to work evenings and weekends
• Knowledge and understanding of Xwísten community, culture and challenges
• Valid Driver’s License, have a reliable vehicle
• Must pass a criminal record check including vulnerable
Wage: $19.00 to $30.00 per hour minimum and depending upon experience
