Description

Summer Student Employment Opportunity 2026
The Public Works and Utilities Department is looking forward to adding enthusiastic and community minded students to the Public Works and Utilities team for the summer of 2026.

The District of Lillooet plans to hire up to four students to join the Public Works and Utilities Team to assist with Public Works and Utility duties over a period of 10 weeks between June 29, 2026, and September 04, 2026.

The Summer Workers will work 40 hours per week. These positions fall under the Collective Agreement of the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 173.

If you like working outside, this is the job for you. The Summer Students will assist with Public Works and Utility activities including landscaping operations such as maintenance of green spaces, playing fields, parks, cemeteries, and washroom facilities as well as road and sidewalk maintenance. They will also be, in many cases, tourists’ first point of contact in gaining knowledge and experiencing a positive visit to the community. Positive attitude, good communication skills, and knowledge of Lillooet’s tourist attractions and interesting highlights would all be an asset to the Summer Student’s resume.

The current rate of pay for the Summer Worker is $20.32 and the Application Form for these positions can be found on the back side of this advertisement. If you are interested in this employment opportunity you should submit your application no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12th, 2026, by:
