Seasonal Full Time Lifeguard/Swim Instructor

Resumes are being accepted for the Seasonal Full-Time position of Lifeguard/Swim Instructor at the District of Lillooet REC Centre
Scope of Work
Ensure safety of all pool users; teach group and private swim lessons; assist in planning and running special events in the pool; routine maintenance and cleaning of facility; regular checks of water quality and equipment function; provide a safe and welcoming environment for pool users.
Rate of Pay
This is a Union position within CUPE Local 173. The current rate of pay is $23.73 – $28.25 per hour. This position will run from the end of April 2025 until end of August 2025 (approximate).
Required Abilities and Skills
Knowledge of rules and regulations governing safety in a public pool; the ability to direct emergency response in the pool; ability to learn about pool filtration system; strong interpersonal skills.
Required Training and Experience
•National Lifeguard Award (Pool Option)
•Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor (Pool Option)
•Standard first aid current within 2 years and CPR ‘C’ current within 1 year
•Pool Operators Level 1 certificate (preferred)
