LANDS MAINTENANCE & FLEET MANAGER
Full-Time
Bridge River Indian Band is seeking an individual to fill the Lands Maintenance & Fleet Manager position and lead our Lands O&M Team. The position works in an outdoor setting in all weather conditions and must have their own tools. This pivotal role involves overseeing fleet and wood processing operations. The position ensures that all fleet and equipment assets are safe, compliant, and in optimal working conditions to support continuous operations, including wood processing, delivery and snow removal. The position works with Band O&M Manager and Administrator.
Duties and not limited to:

Will be responsible for leading his team, completed tasks and wood orders

Maintaining high standards of repair, annual maintenance, using diagnostic tools to identify issues, repairs to equipment and fleet, other tasks

Performing routine preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections are performed on all vehicles and equipment

Help troubleshoot complex diagnostics, repairs and problem solving

Maintain a sufficient inventory of equipment, tools and materials to ensure the efficient operation of the department.

Document accurate logs of services, repairs, and inspections

Bucking, splitting, loading and delivery of wood orders and ensuring signature required

Other general yard clean-up and maintenance duties, as needed, include snow removal, sanding and salting

Safety compliance by maintaining a clean workspace, adhering to safety regulations for handling hazardous materials, adhere to all Health and Safety policies and Procedures, rules and regulations, including PPE and clothing appropriate for the elements

Cleaning job sites to ensure safety, ensure all jobs are recorded and work orders signed off and submitted

Maintain current certifications and increase professional development and other relevant certifications

Perform all other tasks or projects assigned by Administrator
Qualifications:
-
Must be a licensed mechanic, and have own mechanic tools
-
Familiarity with automotive systems, with 10 years of relevant experience, and strong experience in maintenance

Have hand-eye co-ordination, attention to detail, manual dexterity, able to stand for extended periods, strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities

Experience with routine maintenance operations

Ability to use hand tools and other specialized equipment
-
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

Experience using a wood splitter, chainsaw, and operating a skid steer
-
Excellent organizational, time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and understanding of work safety

First Aid Certifications (or willing to obtain within a set time frame)

WHIMIS Certification (or willing to obtain within a set time frame)
-
A valid Driver’s license (Class 1, 4, is an asset) and a reliable vehicle

Strong command of the English language and ability to follow instructions
-
Ability to obtain a clean criminal record check
