About Us

Whistler Therapeutics is a medically focused cannabis cultivator and processor. We have a 10-acre farm with standard cultivation, processing and sales licenses from the federal government pursuant to the Cannabis Act. We are looking for a motivated quality control assistant with experience in the regulated cannabis company. The role requires a flexible and adaptable personality as changes to regulations are common and our practices evolve.

Compensation: Hourly - 25$ to 38$/ hour with Bonus and ability to participate in company’s stock option plan, comprehensive health insurance after the probationary period of 3 months

Location of Employment: Remote with 2 days per month onsite

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, create or amend Standard Operating Procedures independently with feedback from the operational team,

  • Update critical regulatory required manuals, or plans such as organizational security plan, physical security plan, good production report(s),

  • Audit processes to ensure compliance with the Cannabis Regulations,

  • Be familiar with Good Agricultural Practices, or organic agriculture practices,

  • Work with the rest of the management team to develop and implement strong operational procedures covering cultivation, processing, and analytical testing,

  • Perform audits and reviews of executed Batch Production Records while ensuring documentation is both complete and compliant,

  • Update organics plan annually for verification by third party regulatory bodies like FVOPA, or PACS,

  • Familiarity with the Canadian Organics Standards is considered an asset,

  • Responsible for taking a lead on complaint investigations, change controls, deviations and CAPAs.

  • Communicate with and advise respective department managers regarding complaint investigations, change controls, deviations and non-conformance issues found with associated CAPA implementation.

  • Lead mock recalls, and assist in recalls, if/when required,

  • Keep up to date on best practices.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of combined experience in a quality control role, compliance or research,

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite, and Adobe suite,

  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a Health Canada Security Clearance,

  • Valid BC Driver’s License and reliable transportation,

  • Leadership experience considered an asset.
