Resumes are being accepted for the Full-Time Temporary Position of Utility Operator for the District of Lillooet
Scope of Work
-
Operation and maintenance of municipal water and/or wastewater infrastructure, including water supply and distribution, and sewage collection and treatment, as qualified.

Call-out to emergencies in the municipal infrastructure system as required.

Implementation of public works projects to satisfy established designs.

Assist with connection of users to municipal sewer and water systems in accordance with regulated public health standards.

Assist with effective inventory control in relation to materials/goods associated with the municipal infrastructure.

Assist with development and maintenance of effective records for municipal infrastructure.

Perform the duties of other Public Works classifications as required and where qualified.

Perform manual labour associated with construction and ongoing operation, maintenance, and repair of municipal roads, sidewalks, surface drainage facilities, sewer, water works, parks, equipment, sanitation, and municipal buildings as directed by the Public Works Foreman,
Required qualifications, training, and experience
-
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Experience in operation and maintenance of municipal infrastructure works, or other equivalent combination of training and experience, preferably in a municipal environment.

Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.

Possess a valid EOCP Level 2 designation or equivalent for at least one of: Water Distribution (WD), Sewer Collection (WWC), Water Treatment (WT) or Sewer Treatment (WWT).

At least one year experience in the operations and maintenance of municipal infrastructure.

Knowledge of District’s Health and Safety Policy and Program
Preferred qualifications, training, and experience

Air endorsement for driver’s licence

Any other experience or expertise that adds value to their resume (eg.: trades experience, professional certifications, technological/IT skills, etc.)

Rate of Pay
-
This is a Union position within CUPE Local 173. The current rate of pay is $35.99 to $39.16 per hour with benefits as outlined in the Collective Agreement depending on qualifications.
