Six Month Part Time Position

POSITION: Finance Clerk
WORK HOURS: Wednesday to Friday: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at 21 hours / week
REPORTS TO: Administrator
The Cayoose Creek Band (CCB) is currently recruiting for the position of Finance Clerk for a six-month part-time position with potential for permanent employment following the six months. The Finance Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial matters, including accounts payable, data entry and paperwork as a supporting role within the finance department. This position requires attention to detail, quality and accuracy, and the ability to work in a face-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and posts invoices;

  •  Process emergency payments as needed;

  • Assist in processing payroll on designated date as identified;

  • Complete monthly bank reconciliation for all bank accounts in a timely manner.

  • Process accounts payable and receivables;

  •  Assist in establishing and maintaining financial policies and controls

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining financial reports

  •  Assist in preparing financial budgets and plans;

  • Assists in monitoring annual revenue and expenditures against budget, Band objectives, and funding agreements and assists with analyzing the financial implications of department activities.

  • Assist in producing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and other reports as directed, Includes annual consolidated statements.

  • Assists with year-end audit process and facilitates audit with external auditors

  • Other related duties as required Qualifications and Skills

  • Accounting Certificate or Diploma

  • Experience in Xyntax Financial Software;

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  •  Excellent communication and organization skills

  • Time management and prioritization skills.

  • Experience working independently and part of a team.

  •  Required: Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License with a clean Drivers Abstract and reliable transportation.

  • Required: Clear Criminal Record Check

  • Preference for experience in First Nation services. Salary Range: $ 25.00 - $ 28.00 hour - Dependent on qualifications and experience Term: Six Month Contract – may lead to permanent full time employment Scope: Part Time – up to 21 Hours per week NOTES:
